Institute Director Mark Eggler’s Story

Delivering a Technical Education Beyond Compare

I am incredibly passionate about EIT and our purpose. With decades of hands-on experience working on the most advanced military technology in Australia, I know firsthand the importance of having a broad knowledge base and the ability to think laterally under pressure. The experiences and unique learnings I was exposed to created an environment of continual success in my life, one I am passionate to pass-on through EIT. The institute provides cutting-edge education that leaders of global organizations, both private and public, can recall when it's needed most. Whether it's in a high-pressure situation or when tackling complicated problems, we teach you not only the knowledge but how to perform at the highest level. We've created the most advanced university level courses available, that draws on the latest techniques and technology. Our mission is to help high performers and world leaders learn technical skills better, so they can be better prepared for whatever challenges come their way.

Developing Fundamental Principles For Success In Business And War

I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with global experts from a variety of militaries, including those in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, the USA, and Europe, among others. Learning from these experts wasn’t just about acquiring specific skills for a particular application, but about developing a more fundamental understanding of the principles underlying those skills. This allowed me to develop a greater level of expertise and experience much more quickly. These skills are just as essential in the world of business as they are in the world of war, where the landscape is constantly dynamic and requires a lateral approach to problem-solving.

Saving Australia's Most Important Military Project

My extensive experience and knowledge in the field of military technology came to the forefront when I was tasked with saving Australia’s most important military project – the development of the Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle. The project was at risk of being cancelled due to poor scoping and lack of progress. Drawing on my experience working on a wide range of military technology across different applications and requirements, I was able to quickly identify the problems and provide innovative solutions. Through my leadership and expertise, the project was turned around and is now renowned as the most important Australian military development ever, recognized globally for its excellence.

Creating The Most Advanced University Course Based On My Experience

I had always been passionate about education and the importance of teaching technical skills. That passion led me to create a specialized course for Canberra University on technical design, drawing upon my extensive knowledge and background. This experience was the foundation for EIT. When my son Daniel joined the team, we took the teaching to the next level, using cutting-edge learning techniques to surpass what any university had been able to deliver. Our focus is on providing high-performance individuals with the skills and experience they need to excel in their chosen fields.

EIT’s Innovative Educational Approach

My passion for delivering world-class education in a refined format drives me to help high performers and world leaders rapidly advance their skills and perform under pressure. In the real world, things are constantly changing, and you don’t always have all the information you need. That’s why traditional education falls short. But at EIT, we offer a different approach. Our courses are designed to provide hands-on experience and help participants think laterally, so they can draw on their knowledge and experience when it really counts. We use the latest neuroscience research, cutting-edge course frameworks, and globally-renowned teachers who are experts in their own right to deliver material that can be easily absorbed and put to use when needed.

Director of Education and Training Dr. Daniel Eggler’s Story

Redefining Technical Education for Future Leaders

Education is more than just teaching: it’s about taking someone on a transformative journey, where they realize the full potential of their abilities, and witness how knowledge can shape their future. That’s the why behind what I do, and that’s the promise I bring to every class, every student, and now, to every initiative at EIT.

Education Beyond the Classroom: Real-World Impact

True education creates a powerful ripple effect, transforming careers and shaping futures. At EIT, we connect the dots between theoretical learning and practical applications, ensuring the skills we impart make an immediate impact in the workplace. Our focus is not just on teaching but also on nurturing talent, inspiring aspirations, and creating success stories in a myriad of professional fields.

Thriving Amid Adversity: Innovation in the Age of Remote Learning

The pandemic was a turning point, inspiring us at EIT to redefine our educational approach and rise to global prominence. With the world in flux, I utilized my expertise at the University of New South Wales to transform conventional teaching methods, pioneering innovative strategies for my Mechanical design courses such as live-streamed manufacturing sessions and assembly and testing by proxy events. This personalized assessment provided each student with an immersive, authentic, real-world learning experience and outcome even in a remote learning setting.

This shift was not merely reactive; it was a strategic move to enhance educational offerings, providing deeper, practical insights to participants. Because of this, I was honored with the Educational Excellence and Innovation Award in 2020 and 2021 – a testament to our commitment to delivering superior learning experiences, no matter the circumstances.

Shaping the Future of Technical Education at EIT

With a vision to shape the future of education, I then stepped into the role of Director of Education and Training at EIT. Harnessing my extensive experience, we’ve redefined the impact of technical education, integrating innovative software and pioneering delivery methods. At EIT, we don’t just follow educational trends: we set them.

Our commitment goes beyond teaching. We strive to empower our participants with the skills to excel in their chosen fields. As we continue to innovate, we are energized by the prospect of helping organizations achieve unprecedented productivity and success through our advanced technical education programs. Together, we are not just imparting education: we are creating a legacy of excellence and professional achievement.
