Mark Eggler Delivers Public Lecture At The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, India

Eggler Institute of Technology is delighted to announce that its Institute Director, Mark Eggler, will deliver a public lecture to the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology on 12 July 2017. The lecture topic covers:

‘The Use of Advanced Model Based Systems Engineering Techniques in the Design of New Generation Armoured Fighting Vehicles’.

Model based system engineering is a powerful technique that can be applied to the design of new generation armoured fighting vehicles. The lecture outlines an approach to developing an integrated systems architecture that captures the outputs of operational analysis, requirements development, functional analysis, and design and synthesis. Various short demonstrations show how such techniques can develop a rich and traceable design architecture for new armoured fighting vehicle designs.

The key insight from the lecture is how the systems engineering method can now be more effectively undertaken using advanced model based systems engineering techniques. And that this approach is far superior when compared to current, conventional paper-based means.

Whilst the lecture focuses on using model-based techniques to military vehicle design, the design method and techniques can be equally applied to other technology domains. This model based system engineering method has been successfully used in the design of armoured vehicles, fire fighting vehicles, a soldier combat system and military communications systems.
